Multi-Flow Series Float System

The MFS Float System is a patent pending low profile single point battery watering system that fills via gravity flow or by using our pressure regulator. The system consists of a group of float valves interconnected by small diameter tubing. These valves are installed in the vent cells of the battery and are left there for the life of the battery. By simply hooking up to your existing water supply, the entire battery can be watered safely and accurately. Current applications include flooded industrial batteries (Fork Lift), deep cycle (Golf Cart) batteries and flooded stationary batteries.

As an added benefit, the exposed profile of the float heads sits below the inter-cell connectors on most batteries. This prevents the float heads from being sheared off during battery changes when the operator may not have the battery changer lined up perfectly. It also eliminates battery cables from catching on the floats and breaking them off. A protective helmet is installed on each float to further protect it from damage or dirt build up. The profile of the system makes it ideal on crowded battery tops, such as in fast charge applications. In fact, in very tight applications, the small diameter tubing is further advantageous because it can be routed under inter-cell connectors or bent very sharply without kinking.

The float valve operates by locating a small check ball in a cylinder. When the cell requires water, a cam lobe dislodges the ball from its seat. Water can then flow through the cylinder and into the cell. As the cell reaches the correct fill level, the cam allows the ball to return to its seat and stop flow. During filling, the ball is constantly being rinsed by incoming water which prevents dirt from building up and causing a failure. There are no rubber parts in the valve that can degrade over time and cause failures in the future.

Further down into the cell is the actual float. The float moves up and down based on the electrolyte level in the cell. It is fully encased in a protective cage. This prevents foreign debris from interfering with the float operation. The cage is strong enough to prevent a buckled plate cover from interfering with the float operation.

The system operates flawlessly at a wide range of pressures. Since no minimum pressure is required, true gravity pressure fills are possible without any minimum height requirements. No minimum pressure also means that an infinite amount of Float Valves can be hooked together without any chance of overfilling. For customers that want to utilize a pressurized fill, we offer a 15 psi regulator. This gives a quick fill without having to worry about any problems associated with high pressure water on a battery. The system works well with the Liquid Precision Deionizer and our Direct Fill Link. That allows customers to utilize the system without having to spend money on any special water supplies.

The system is available Factory Direct at in our online store at BatteryWatering.net or through select Distributors and Manufacturers. More benefits of the product can be viewed in our Products Section.
